Abstract
Islamic geometrical patterns are a highly complex geometric art form whose original design techniques are placed at the back of history. This form of art conveys something deeply profound about the inexplicable beauty of geometrical forms. This paper describes and scrutinizes one of the patterns, referred to as Yazdibandi, used to decorate the internal surface of domes and semidomes. This paper offers a method for drawing Yazdibandi in 2D schema based on primary rules of geometry. By drawing four concentric circles and 24 radii actually the base of Yazdibandi introduced then same five-pointed stars arranged on circles. After the creation of connections between stars, we use Rasmibandi, another technique, to get more decorative pattern. Rasmibandi refers to a collection of crisscross arcs used in many Islamic historical domes. After the completion of Rasmibandi, the ultimate form of Yazdibandi will appear. This method is validated by implementing a windows application for Yazdibandi.
