Abstract
This paper investigates the zero-state observability and detectability of switched and hybrid dissipative Hamiltonian systems with infinite number of switching subsystems, and proposes a number of new results for the problem. First, study of two examples shows the complexity of the relationship between the zero-state detectability/observability of a switched and hybrid Hamiltonian system and that of its subsystems. Then, by fully exploiting the Hamiltonian structural properties, the (uniform) zero-state observability and detectability of switched and hybrid Hamiltonian systems with infinite number of switching subsystems are investigated, and several criterions are obtained.
