  • Abstract
    A 14-in.-diagonal full-color a-Si thin-film-transistor liquid crystal display (TFT LCD) has been developed using a novel TFT arrangement and optimizing the factors that dominate off-state characteristics. The display has 308, 160 (642 H*480 V) pixels (1,232,640 subpixels) and a high contrast ratio (more than 100:1 at the optimum viewing angle). The TFT arrangement realizes high display quality and leads to high production yield at the same time, due to a triangular pixel arrangement with straight bus lines.<>
