Abstract
Satellite communication has become an essential tool as part of the communication network globally. In order to define the capability of the communication satellite system, a parametric analysis in characterizing the key envelopes of the system requirement need to be established. Therefore, main characteristics such as mass, volume and power need to be identified in order to have a sense of understanding the type of satellite and system capacity that would be practical to be designed for. As the scope of the analysis being conducted was approaching from bus system perspective, the main characteristics would then being translated into analyzing the system capacity through assessment of the allowable payload envelope in the ranges of selected Launch Vehicle, deriving the propulsion system requirement, sizing the power system and describing the associated transponder capability which were the domain of interest in characterizing the satellite features. Results of the analysis would then encapsulate the ranges of feasible system requirement to be pursued further in the design phase.
