Abstract :
The design, development and testing of a 2.5 THz mixer using planar Schottky diodes is presented. The mixer uses a Schottky diode integrated onto a quartz microstrip circuit. The integrated circuit is mounted in a WR-0.4 waveguide housing (1.8-2.8 THz) with integral diagonal feedhorn. Preliminary testing at 2.5 THz yielded a responsivity in the range of 200-400 V/W, indicating that the fabrication successfully achieved low anode and shunt capacitances.
