Abstract :
In the paper the author set forth foundations of the theory of antenna arrays with randomness in excitation and position of radiators. Main attention is paid to problems of the analysis of statistical characteristics of similar arrays in the far zone. The theoretical generalization to the Fresnel zone both for equidistant and non-equidistant arrays is given along with problems in the analysis (direct problems), the inverse problems - the problems of the statistical synthesis of antenna arrays. The most important literature characterizing the state-of-the-art in the statistical theory of antenna arrays is indicated.
