Abstract :
A series of bis-hydroxyl ethyl azobenzen derivatives were synthesized successfully from N, N-bishydroxyl ethyl aniline and substituted aromatic diazonium chlorides. The hyper-Rayleigh scattering (HRS) method studied their NLO properties. The relation between the first molecular hyperpolarizability values and molecular structures of the chromophores was discussed.
