Abstract :
Electrical power engineering education as career is continuously declining from last two decades all over the world. Utilities managers, electric equipment manufacturers, power professionals and electric engineering educationists are predicting an impending crisis of acute shortage of electrical engineers. Underground trend towards solid state electronics, telecommunication and biomedical engineering is manifestation of imminent predicament of electrical power professionals for operating and developing tomorrow´s electric power industries. This article discusses the compelling reasons behind the continued decline in power engineering education and suggest potential strategies to attract enrolment to this profession as career. Surely, career is bright but leaders have no lantern to guide power engineers to sun way lagoon
