Abstract :
The reliability and sensitivity of a tension rod which is subjected to the axial dynamic load and strength deterioration and has stochastic parameters is analyzed. The longitudinal stochastic response of the linear and continuous rod is given and the corresponding stochastic stress is formulated according to Hooke´s law. The residual strength is modeled by a random variable and a non-stationary Gamma process. Then, the dynamic and gradual coupling state function and reliability model are presented. The approximate method is employed to calculate the reliability and is validated by Monte Carlo simulation. The sensitivity of the dynamic and gradual coupling reliability of tension rod is analyzed. Finally, the practicality and efficiency of the proposed method are demonstrated by a numerical example.
