Abstract :
A lightning countermeasure proposed to protect huts in Zimbabwe is described. The hut is encircled with a ring of wire as an attempt to provide some low resistance path to lightning currents. Crowsfoot radials are provided at four points around the circumference. After that the most effective measure is to have four to eight radials from a finial rod on the roof of the hut. These are usually circular rondavels
