Abstract
Summary form only given, as follows. Computer simulations of the formation (injection and heating) of the staging fluid to be used in multiply staged, cylindrically driven, spherical solid liner implosion experiments to be performed at the US Air Force Weapons Laboratory were performed. Theoretical considerations suggest that, by properly compressing such a preheated (~1-5-eV) staging fluid, a central target can be made to undergo spherical compression. The fluid is formed by injecting hydrogen gas, heated and compressed as the working fluid in an expanding radial snowplow plasma gun, into the region encompassed by the liner
