Abstract :
Flat panel display (FPD) technology is having the trend to replace CRT displayers both in industry and family usage, and becoming more and more important all over the world. Gray scale is one of the key parameters of display quality. The main method to control gray scale levels is Pulse width modulation (PWM). It contains much time redundancy in this process, and requests higher scan frequency. On the other hand, to solve the problem based on human´s vision nonlinearity rule, we had to add more gray scales to satisfy human vision. In order to those problems, this paper proposes a sub- space partition strategy and bit scanning control method based on human´s vision nonlinearity rule, to optimize the scanning time redundancy problem and reduce the scan frequency.
