Wave propagation simulation in coarse grain (attenuative) materials

Abstract :
We introduce velocity dispersion as the attenuation. We used the impulse response to know characteristics of course grain material. We confirmed uni-pole wave like inpulse function generated by broad band transducer with step-function pulser using an Ultrasonic Visualization System. Through coarse grain material, uni-pole wave maintains uni-pole, but the height decreases as the duration increases. We found uni-pole wave area is basically the same.
