Abstract :
The embedded element patterns of two parallel half-wavelength dipoles are calculated for various source impedances and dipole spacings. The radiation efficiency, correlation and effective diversity gains are shown to vary with source impedances. With 50Ω source impedance, the results compare well to those obtained from measurements in a reverberation chamber. The maximum effective diversity gain seems to appear when the source impedance is conjugate matched to the input impedance of the embedded dipole element, and not for the source impedance maximizing the radiation efficiency.
