Abstract :
We present a two stage receiver scheme to combat the deleterious effects due to EMI. In the first stage, we employ a continuous time filter matched to the data waveform, and sample the output of the matched filter to obtain a discrete time equivalent of the transmitted signals and EMI. In the second stage, a linear filter with adjustable tap weights and a variable number of taps is employed to reduce the effect of EMI. It is assumed that the EMI could be due to arbitrary waveforms extending over variable time intervals
