Abstract :
In the previous paper (Ship 3D model estimation, T.Cooke, RADAR 2003), a method was described for estimating a 3D point scatterer model from a sequence of 2D ISAR images, with no knowledge of the ship motion. It assumed, however, that each scatterer could be correctly associated with a Doppler measurement in the ISAR image sequence. This is usually not an accurate assumption, so it is the purpose of the current paper to describe a relabelling algorithm, which accurately assigns image maxima to the correct model scatterer. This relabelling allows useful 3D ship models to be generated for realistic ISAR image sequences.
