Abstract :
A new printed CPW-fed monopole antenna for WLAN and WiMAX application with band-rejection performance has been experimentally and theoretically discussed. The proposed antenna has a compact size of 50 × 35 mm2. For multiband performance of the proposed antenna, the dimensions of the notch on the ground plane and radiation patch have been studied by parameter analysis. Furthermore, embedding a narrow C slot on a rectangular patch of monopole yields dual band-rejected characteristic. The proposed antenna with an advantage of compact size and good radiation performance is suitable for WLAN and WiMAX applications.
