Abstract :
This paper describes the roll plane analysis necessary for predicting the near field radiation pattern of a monopole antenna mounted on the fuselage of an aircraft. Initially the near field pattern around a convex cylinder is estimated based on UTD theory. This solution is used as source field for further analysis in obtaining the pattern when the plates are also attached. The results could be useful for estimating the EMI due to antenna on the electronics circuits inside the aircraft
