Abstract :
Beam shaping of array antennas has attracted the attention of many researchers for many years because of its primary application in tracking and ground mapping radars, etc. Several methods have been suggested by them depending on the shapes desired and computational power available. A new approach i.e. using a genetic algorithm approach is adopted to synthesize arrays to produce desired beam shapes. This approach has the advantage that several design criteria required to comply with EMC standards can be met in one synthesis procedure simultaneously. Simulation results for a particular case have been presented
