Abstract :
A waveguide based technique to measure the dielectric constant and the loss tangent of epoxy resins and viscous liquids at 2.45 GHz is presented. The method is based on the measurement of reflection and transmission coefficient data of the liquid sample by placing them in a glass tube, which is then inserted inside the WR-340 waveguide. The measured setup is simulated with the help of a numerical method, and the error between the simulated and the measured scattering data is minimized using an optimization algorithm in order to reconstruct the dielectric properties of test samples
