Abstract
This paper proposes two strategies of Direct Power Control (DPC) for three-phase voltage source converter (VSC). The ultimate aims of these strategies are to improve the dynamic response and steady-state performance. In particular, this study focuses on the improved DPC which is based on an optimization of switching table, in which the Zero vectors were eliminated in order to improve the power control and to reduce current distortion. In addition, simulation and experimental studies were conducted in order to compare these two control strategies. Results of the comparison were used as proof of the effectiveness and robustness of the proposed control strategies during active and reactive power steps. Both of this techniques described have been implemented with a DSpace 1104 control board.
