Abstract
Paper reel logistics need an identification method that covers the whole supply chain. RFID has the potential, but for safety reasons tags should be placed between core and paper, and the paper reel should be still identifiable from all directions horizontally around it. In this paper, a new tag antenna model was developed for paper reel identification: the spread BT antenna. The greatest progress of this work is that a paper reel can be identified with the developed spread BT tag better than with a conventional bow tie tag or commercial tags. There is a demand for 360 degrees reading, and the spread BT tag reaches about 200deg reading. Results of this work also indicate that 360deg identification of a paper reel is possible with RFID tag antenna development
