Training School on Modelling and Simulation Techniques for Linear, Nonlinear and Active Photonic Crystals

Summary form only given. The principal focus of the Training School is on techniques used and results generated within the modelling and simulation Working Group, WG2, supported by some general introduction to the topics studied within the programme. The course is led by nine lecturers from across Europe and is being attended by students with a broad range of research interests. A unique and crucial point of the Training School is hands-on training in design software. Whilst much of the software has been developed within the research labs of the lecturers?? institutions, we are particularly grateful to RSoft and Photon Design for free licensing of their commercial software for use at the School.
