Abstract
In this paper, we have investigated adopting sequential decoding algorithm to detect CPM signal with Green decomposition. As discussed, the number of filters used in the matched filter bank may be reduced without significantly affecting the receiver´s SER performance. Further, we reduce the complexity by using the feature which implies that certain different branches in the trellis share the same waveforms. Compared with the MLSD, the algorithm endures tiny performance degeneration. However, we can compensate the lost performance by the speed advantage of sequential decoding algorithm.
