Abstract :
The nitrogen synergism is examined in this paper with SF6 /C8F16O and SF6/C2Cl 4 mixtures with the influence of different percentages of N 2. A modification of the corona stabilization and corona free breakdown is noticed. A small adoption of 1.5%-2.5% C8F16O and 1.5% C2Cl4 for SF 6 with (⩽10%) N2 shows an enhancement of the corona stabilization associated with an increase in the breakdown voltages. These SF6/gas mixtures behaviors are interpreted in terms of physical interactions
