Author_Institution :

Abstract :
The success achieved using the IEEE-CS MSS reference model for developing an MSS product requirements document is described. Background on the need for a product requirements document is given, and the use of the model in organizing and defining the product requirements is described. For each module identified by the model, examples of product requirements are given as representative of the module. In addition to providing a full concrete interpretation of the model, the author identifies some minor limitations encountered with the attempt to use the model as the basis for product requirements. Addressing these minor limitations is described.<>
