Abstract
In sensory robotics safe locomotion needs as detailed discovery of unknown environments as possible. In this paper, uncertain ground detection method is proposed using CNN based infrared proximity arrays. The aim of this research is to improve the motor control of autonomous mobile robots. Three locally hazardous terrain patterns could be detected both in simulations and hardware experiments.
