  • Abstract
    The model and the normal control method of the cascaded H-bridge active power filter is described firstly in this paper. However, problems exist in the normal control. One of the main problems is the unbalance of dc capacitor voltages of the H-bridge units. In this paper, an improved method for dc capacitor voltages control of the cascaded H-bridge active power filter is presented. With slightly shifting the modulation waves, it makes the dc capacitor voltages balancing in the accepted tolerance without any additional units. The method is validated by simulation.
