Abstract
Summary form only given. Traditional fixed-line Telcos as well as newer mobile operators are facing competitive and profit-affecting challenges as broadband network access and IP services roll out to customers. Entry barriers for competitors are continually dropping, making it increasingly important to differentiate services by something other than price. This talk will review recent announcements from operators around the world and will explore the competitive challenges being faced by fixed-line operators. The promise of converging voice, data, video and mobility services under a single platform to offer market differentiation and competitive advantages will be discussed, revealing both the technical challenges and the business opportunities.
