Abstract :
This manuscript describes the interactive modelling of a six step discontinuous current mode inverter fed PMSM drive using SIMULINK. The dq-axis voltage-current and torque relation in terms of machine parameters are used to develop the SIMULINK model. An interactive six step 120 degree mode inverter and gate drive are newly developed using SIMULINK. Dialog boxes are provided where the user can enter the data relating to power supply, phase advance angle, PMSM parameters such as stator resistance, inductance, number of poles, rotor magnet constant, M.I. of motor and damping constant etc. in the appropriate places provided for this purpose. Thus this model finds application in virtual power electronics and drives laboratories. Performance test and measurement were conducted on Lybotec six step discontinuous current mode MOSFET inverter fed PMSM drive in the laboratory. These values are used in this open loop model. Simulation results for phase advance angle of pi/6 and pi/4 are given and compared with experimental results
