Abstract :
Web services provide a web-based solution to achieve the interoperability of geospatial information processing - meanwhile specialized users such as hydrological scientists require more advanced services for analyzing and processing huge volumes of data. River channel storage volume calculation is one of important hydrological processes for decision of anti-flood. This paper presents a web processing service to perform river channel storage volume calculation with a new method by integration of the remote sensing image with in-situ measurements of water level. This prototype is built based on the Open Geospatial Consortium Web Processing Service (OGC WPS) specification. Result demonstrates the usefulness and feasibility of using distributed geoprocessing services for hydrological models.
