Abstract :
This paper deals with the IGBT converter suitable for conversion a three-phase voltage system with changeable magnitude and frequency to a single phase voltage system with constant magnitude and frequency. The IGBT converter consists of three-phase rectifier (AC-DC) and single phase inverter (DC-AC). Three phase AC-DC converter operates as active rectifier. It is capable to boost the input voltage to higher and constant DC voltage. AC-DC converter operates with unity power factor in order to get good converter efficiency. The AC input voltage will be provided from the permanent magnet synchronous generator. The unity power factor operation is achieved when the input converter currents have no phase shift related to generator emf voltages. The inverter converts DC voltage to single phase AC with constant frequency and constant magnitude
