Abstract :
This paper presents the methodology for conducting harmonic studies for offshore windfarms. The high level harmonic models used to represent wind turbine generators, dynamic reactive power compensation plant and background voltage distortions are explained. An example of the typical harmonic performance requirements imposed within wind farm connection conditions is given Simulation results of the background harmonic amplification and incremental harmonic generation for a real wind farm under construction are used to illustrate the described methodology.
