  • Abstract
This paper presents the influence of intermolecular energy transfer on the photolysis of azide group in azidobenzenesulphonamides. Quantum-chemical calculations of 4-azidobenzenesulphonamides containing two nonconjugated π-electronic subsystems are carried out. Energies of the first singlet and triplet excited states are calculated for the azidobenzenesulphonamides and their electronic chromophores using semi-empirical MNDOd approximation. The calculated values are confirmed by spectral measurements. Influence of intramolecular triplet-triplet excitation energy transfer rate over quantum yield of the azide group photolysis is shown for the investigated compounds. All synthesized compounds are characterized by NMR and IR-spectroscopy.
