Abstract :
In this paper, the fabrication process of PANDA polarization maintaining fibers by PCVD method is briefly introduced. Meanwhile, the effects of bending and temperature on birefringence and crosstalk of PM fibers are studied in detail. Results and analysis show the properties of PM fibers by PCVD method are quite stable and the effects of bending and temperature on birefringence and crosstalk are insignificantly even if the bending diameter reaches up to 10 mm or the temperature changes from -60degC to +85degC.
