Abstract
We discuss the interference in downlink CDMA channels and consider the advantages of applying multiuser detection techniques, fast power control and convolutional coding in mobile stations. Simulation results in a two-path Rayleigh fading channel are presented showing that if the increased computational complexity is tolerable hard and soft multiuser detection results in improved performance
