Abstract
The author suggests that artificial intelligence (AI) has brought about an integration of various, apparently unrelated enterprises and has contributed to the enrichment of a number of fields. Topics of interest to AI include reasoning about knowledge, belief and modalities, temporal reasoning, non-monotonic reasoning, reasoning about vagueness, reasoning about uncertainty, and legal reasoning. These topics are briefly discussed
