Abstract :
The development of the Qualified Manufacturing Line (QML) in both the military (Mil-I-38535) and the commercial (EIA/JEDEC 14.5) sectors of the market require a reassessment of the role of a test engineer in this new quality system. QML is based on six basic principles: controlled processes; continual improvement; quality management approach; self-audit program with quality enhancement; technical review board (corporate conscience); and verified reliability of process. The test engineer has a role in each of these basic principles
