Abstract :
Here had been analyzed the coupling phenomenon between microrings at high intensities and in the presence of Kerr effect. The studies include the three dimensional analysis between microring-microring and microring-waveguide for lateral arrangement. The results show that the rate exchange of power between microrings has a dependency to the intensity of applied electric field. As the result of Kerr effect, by strengthening of field intensity, the coupling efficiency decreases so that the rate exchange of power vanishes at high intensities. This result provides a technique to designing an ldquoall optical flip-flap circuitrdquo and controlling the group velocity and delay time in couple resonator optical waveguide (CROW) structures.
