Abstract
Discusses the development of an equipment which will measure azimuth and elevation bearing angles, will operate on good and poor DF sites and be suitable for use in either transportable or fixed roles. Operation on poor DF sites, with a number of nearby signal reflections, and operation with high elevation angle sky-wave signals means that a wide aperture system should be used. However, the need for transportability and rapid deployment implies that the number of elements in the antenna array should be reduced to a minimum. This paper describes the system which has been developed and gives the theoretical performance and practical results obtained using the system
