Abstract :
A voltammetric Electronic Tongue consisting of novel metal base electrode array for classification of Amylose present in rice samples was developed. The electrode array consisting of Gold, Palladium, Platinum, Rhodium and Iridium as working electrode has been used for transforming information of Amylose content in rice into electric signal. The electrodes output shows different pattern of electrical signal for rice samples that have different Amylose percentage. Experiments were carried out on four different rice samples having Amylose content in low, medium and high level. Principal Component Analysis (PCA) was used for visual inspection of data set. Classification was performed by statistical method. A fair discrimination was obtained and this rapid, low-cost method may be useful for prediction of Amylose percentage in rice for breeding and quality perspective.
