Title :
The identification of opportunities to improve pump system maintenance and reduce system energy losses
Abstract :
Pump systems are examined for the connection between high maintenance costs and excess energy use. Basic principles are reviewed and the practical design environment of a pump system is modeled in software. Mechanical output from the pump system is compared to the electrical power delivered. Losses are identified. The connection between low system efficiency and high maintenance is developed. An example is provided to illustrate the power of computer analysis to save costs and improve system availability.
