System analysis of digital differential power transformer protection

The authors present some findings relating to the design of digital differential transformer protection. They limit themselves to the key questions of digital filtering, phase compensation and harmonic restraint. They point out some solutions which can be implemented with success in the protection algorithm. They present a model of a power transformer which is equipped with an additional current transformer and thus enables simulation of the actual operating conditions and successful testing of protective algorithms
