Abstract
The underlying raison d´etre of an ISDN in a military environment is no different from that of a commercial environment. Its function is to support the consultation, command and control activities of its users. The authors discuss the special requirements for military ISDN, considering security and service survivability. Design concepts for a NATO ISDN are given
