Abstract :
The scenario for single line IDA and multiline IDA is identical in that the public switched telephone network (PSTN) provides a network termination on the customer´s premises and the customer connects his equipment to the BT network interfaces. For effective services both network and customer equipment must conform to the same interface specifications, BT acceptance test suppliers equipment against a standard benchmark implementation. The benchmark (digital communications tester) is a powerful computer based tester running standard suites of test scripts. These test scripts are the test specifications coded in a high level test language
