Abstract
Describes the intelligent network (IN) architecture which is defined, and will allow optimal distribution of IN functions across the network, ensuring central introduction of prototype or low-usage services followed by the distribution of the service logic as features are demanded. The co-location of high-usage service control point (SCP) functions with the service switching point (SSP) functions will provide an efficient implementation. A product which represents a step on the way to IN feature introduction is also described, which shows the method by which a level of feature programming can be simply added to current AXE systems
