Abstract :
A bilateral filter is an edge-preserving filter that is widely applied in the image processing field in spite of its length of computation time and space complexity. In this paper, we propose a fast filtering method using image redundancy reduction; our approach can reduce the filtering computation time by reducing the redundant operations between adjacent blocks of pixels. We also apply this approach to bilateral filtering, which can then run faster, and does not require additional space consumption.
