Abstract :
Improvement of transmission efficiency and received quality of JPEG-coded images is studied in the Japanese PHS personal communication channel and another hypothetically designed channel. To achieve the results, FEC, ARQ with a simple CRC, and ARQ with FEC/ED schemes are analyzed. Additional information along with coded data are transmitted to improve the throughput of the ARQ. “Throughput” and “decoded image SNR” are compared among the schemes
