Abstract :
The authors review the basic theory behind resonant LC tank circuits and an equivalent two-port network representation that is used in the operational simulation filter synthesis process. They outline the basic idea behind the operational simulation method as applied to noncanonic LC ladder networks. They identify the circuit elements in the active-RC circuit implementation that are responsible for creating the finite transmission zeros (TZs). Furthermore, they quantify the effect that integrator errors have on the transmission zeros in terms of frequency location and notch depth. A new compensation method is suggested to eliminate the effect of integrator errors on the TZs. A 5th order lowpass elliptic filter example is used to illustrate the concepts
