Abstract :
We report here a compact, efficient second-order grating coupler for normally incident light. Through making use of transverse resonance and evanescent field coupling, the coupler designed, exhibits high frequency-selectiveness with controllable linewidths. Full-wave simulations based on finite-difference-time-domain method demonstrate linewidth as small as 3 nm at wavelengths 1.497 μm and 1.514 μm.
